On the field, the New England Patriots are best known for their frequent Super Bowl appearances and A-list players. Off the field, their fans are regarded as some of the most passionate in the country, but that also comes with a downside.

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill acknowledged that Patriots fans might be just a little too zealous for his liking. On Sept. 17, the Dolphins beat the Patriots on their home turf in Foxborough, MA. After the game, reporters asked him how it felt to take home the win, and he was honest with his answer.

“It felt tremendous, man,” he said. “Those fans are some of the worst in the NFL, and I’m going to stand on that because they are real nasty. Some of the things that they were saying, I wouldn’t say in church. So yeah, it felt great to wave goodbye to the fans, and I’ll do it again. Bye!”

Hill didn’t specify what exactly the spectators at Gillette Stadium were yelling at him during the game, but the 29-year-old player isn’t exactly a beloved figure in the Patriots world. Back in 2018, a fan was charged with disorderly conduct for throwing a beer at Hill after a 70-yard touchdown

Ultimately, he was proud of his team’s performance in the game.

“To come in here in a tough environment, to win a game like this on a Sunday night, it feels good—especially the way this team played, the way this team battled through adversity,” Hill said, per CBS Sports. “It just shows that if you put in the work mentally, physically, and come into this game prepared, you’ll be ready for situations like that.”

The Dolphins face off against the Denver Broncos this coming Sunday.
