TV Reporter Has Gobsmacked Reaction to Being Robbed Live On-Air

London is currently seeing heavy rains, high winds, and flooding due to Storm Ciarán, with warnings in place through Thursday. But while reporting on the overflowing Thames River, one TV reporter got more than he bargained for when he had his bag stolen live on-air.
“Well the Thames burst its banks here about three hours ago and people are still bailing water out of their cars,” said BBC reporter Harry Low from the scene. “We are seeing vehicle recovery trucks going back and forth and there is a lot of mud on the ground.”
“The Environment Agency has issued a flood alert along the Thames that stretches from Putney Bridge down towards Hampton and Thames Ditton and that’s to warn of flooding and to avoid low lying foot paths,” Low continued, before cutting to a pre-taped interview with a local who called the flooding the “worst he’s ever seen.”
When the studio cut back to Low, however, he appeared visibly taken aback, initially opening his mouth to speak but then taking a few beats while he blinked and seemingly attempted to process what had happened. While those watching at home may not have read too much into the moment, Low later posted the clip to X (formerly Twitter), explaining what had just transpired.
“A career first last night—my bag was stolen halfway through our live [feed],” he posted.

Although Low did not elaborate on the incident, his colleagues flooded into his mentions to commend his bravery and calm in the moment.
“Oh Harry!! You absolute professional. That’s awful though, so sorry that happened to you,” wrote BBC journalist Holly Clemens. “Sorry to hear this Harry. So so frustrating, but you aced this live, you’d never know!” added another BBC journalist, Lauren Stanley.
“Wild, but you carried that report with ease,” posted TV critic and broadcaster Scott Bryan.
It’s unclear whether Low got his belongings back or if authorities were contacted, but it’s a moment he undoubtedly will not soon forget.
