‘Fallout’ to Arrive on Amazon Prime Video Earlier Than Expected

Fallout will be streaming on Amazon Prime Video much earlier than anticipated. Its release, which was already moved up once before, will now be accompanied by some exclusive content sure to titillate fans.
The series, based on the popular video game franchise of the same name, will now drop on Prime Video at 6 p.m. on April 10, Variety reports. That’s one day earlier than its announced April 11 date, but it’s actually the second time Amazon has moved the release up the calendar. Previously, Fallout was set to premiere on April 12.
Wednesday’s premiere will include a live, global event for the first episode that will allow fans worldwide to choose their faction and interact with other Fallout-philes through a live chat feature.
The official logline of the show reads as follows: “Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. Two hundred years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind—and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them.”
The series, spearheaded by Westworld creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, is based on the video game series which launched in 1997. To date, there have been eight titles in the franchise, including a simulation game and an RPG spin-off.
The first two episodes of the series have earned raves from fans and critics alike. “I think this show is going to please a lot of my fellow fans, of ALL of the games,” gushed one diehard on social media.
Meanwhile, Fallout creator Todd Howard is reportedly honing material for a brand new installment of the video game, which some posit might be a direct sequel to 2015’s Fallout 4.
