FAQs & Tips
Store the fish in aluminum foil or plastic wrap and keep in the fridge where it will keep for 2-3 days. A tip: If you want to prolong its shelf life, wrap it in a damp cloth before the foil or plastic. You can also store the fish in the freezer for up to 6 months by wrapping it in foil or plastic and then inside an airtight container.
This mahi mahi recipe needs to be cooked to 140 degrees Fahrenheit, then covered to let it rest. When resting, the fish’s internal temperature should reach 145 degrees, making it safe and ready to enjoy!
Mahi mahi is a mild fish with a touch of sweetness, making it perfect for picky eaters or those who don’t typically avoid fishy foods.
Feel free to switch it up with oven-baked mahi mahi with macadamia crust if you don’t have an air fryer.
The exact recipe is unknown; what we DO know is that it contains celery salt, black pepper, paprika, cayenne pepper, nutmeg, bay leaves, mustard, allspice, cloves, cardamom, and ginger. We also know it’s gluten-free, which adds to its popularity among delicate eaters.
I recommend using fresh mahi mahi for this recipe. However, if you want to use frozen fish, you can as long as you thaw it first. This will allow you to be able to rub it in oil and spices thoroughly before cooking it.

Serving Suggestions
Now that you’ve cooked up some hot and delicious mahi in air fryer, it’s time to add some side dishes to make it a meal! Some cilantro lime cauliflower rice would compliment the fish really well. Instructions
- Rub the fish with the oil and then season with the Old Bay seasoning and some salt.
