Gluten-free & Keto pizza lovers rejoice! This simple Almond Flour Crust Pizza is chewy, crispy, and tasty!

Almond Flour Pizza Crust

The first almond crust pizza that I know of was created by friends Stacey and Ben, nature lovers, farmers, and foodies. Their goal was to create healthy, delicious food made from all-natural ingredients. This led to Cappello, a paleo-friendly, gluten and grain-free almond flour pizza crust company. The brand has expanded on its commitment to using food from the earth and now sells various products in grocery stores worldwide.

Using almond instead of traditional flour not only allows those with dietary restrictions to enjoy a classic dish like pizza, but it also tastes great and is great for you! And the best part? This almond flour pizza comes together in just a half hour!

Aside from buffalo everything, pizza is my favorite thing to eat. We have pizza Fridays every week, which is common in many homes. It started so I could get a break from cooking and cleaning in the kitchen. Now, it has evolved into a way to make and enjoy pizza with friends and family. This almond flour crust pizza is a fan favorite here and will be at your home, too. Keeping dishes tasty and healthy is also our goal at FFF.

Is Almond Flour Pizza Crust Healthy?

Yup! The almonds contain protein, magnesium, fiber, and vitamin E. Also, stick with homemade, organic tomato sauce, low-fat mozzarella, and fresh herbs and veggies as toppings to keep things extra healthy. As mentioned, this almond flour pizza is gluten-free, keto, and paleo and can be made vegan (depending on the toppings). For the crust, replace the eggs with chia seed or flax “eggs” and use vegan cheese.

DIY Almond Flour

So you have almonds but no almond flour? Some people may not realize that almond flour is just finely crushed almonds. So grab your food processor and throw in a handful of almonds at a time. Be sure to remove any large chunks and repeat until finely ground. If you opt for the store-bought kind, look for blanched almond flour, which has a smooth consistency.

FAQs & Tips

How to Make Ahead and Store?

Almond flour crust pizza can be made and stored in an airtight container for about 5 days in the refrigerator or up to 2 months in the freezer. However, leave the toppings off until ready to enjoy.

What pan should I use for Almond flour pizza crust?

If you do not have a pizza pan, a cast iron pan or skillet is best. Cast iron pans retain a consistent amount of heat throughout, resulting in a perfectly crisp and even-cooked crust.

My pizza is soggy and sticking TO the pan?

To prevent pizza from getting soggy, precook the crust for about 10 minutes before adding toppings. Additionally, use parchment paper or olive oil in the pan before adding the pizza dough.
