However, if you’re all about eating tasty and healthy desserts, we recommend healthy cottage cheese cheesecake.

Is Baked Sweet Potato Dessert Healthy?

Since this dessert is centered around a sweet potato, it has plenty of nutritional value. Sweet potatoes are rich in Vitamin C, potassium, beta carotene, and a host of other nutrients. Other ingredients like cinnamon, coconut flakes, and pecans also have nutrients that your body craves. Even the dark chocolate has antioxidants in it. The best part is that the dessert is sweet enough that it doesn’t need any additional refined sugars added.

Plan Ahead

The best thing you can do when cooking a baked sweet potato dessert is to plan ahead. If possible, try baking the sweet potato long before you’re ready to serve dessert so that it can sit in the fridge for a little while. This will allow you to prep everything else much quicker rather than waiting for the potato in the oven while everyone is patiently waiting for dessert. If the potatoes are baked ahead of time, all you have to do is whisk the other ingredients and warm up the potato for a few minutes and dessert will be ready to serve.
