Boaters Catch Stunning Video of Great White Shark Feasting on Whale Carcass

Boaters off the coast of Sarasota, FL got more than they bargained for during a recent trip after they encountered a great white shark feasting on a floating whale carcass. In a video shared by Brian Jung and Daniel Delatorre on March 17, the fearsome ocean predator can be seen viciously attacking the carcass while they look on in awe.

“We located the carcass and there were three great white sharks eating off the blubber on the whale,” Jung told local news outlet WFLA, which identified the sperm whale carcass as being 44 feet long and around 70,000 pounds. 

The whale had previously beached nearby and had been towed back out to sea by authorities after it was unable to be rescued. While it was bad news for the whale, the boaters got a front-row seat to a force of nature.
