A Lions-Chiefs Super Bowl seemed all but guaranteed heading into halftime of the NFC Championship Game on Sunday, with Detroit up 17 points on the San Fransisco 49ers in a 24–7 lead. Unfortunately, that’s not how it panned out, as the Niners rebounded to a 34–31 win in the second half of the game.

But in those fleeting moments when the Lions were on top, nobody seemed to celebrate harder than Detroit native Eminem, who seemed to be having the time of his life trolling San Fransisco fans.

In several photos and videos posted to social media, the 51-year-old rapper, whose real name is  Marshall Mathers, could be seen giving not just the double bird to Niners fans sitting below his suite, but as one user pointed out, “the thumb-extended middle finger no less.”

“This will go down in history,” laughed one user, posting a short video clip on Eminem’s interaction with the home team’s fans, while another posted a photo capturing his “full on mood.”

This will go down in history ???

In a TikTok video from another angle early into the game, when the Lions were up 14–7, 49ers fans appeared unamused with the situation. The then camera panned over to a hyped up Slim Shady, who was seen losing his mind following the Lions second touchdown of the game.

Unfortunately, when the Lions offense began to fall apart in the second half of the game, the “Lose Yourself” singer’s demeanor took a noticeable turn. After San Fransisco scored a point and fans cheered, he could be seen clasping his hands over his head in frustration before turning and walking away dejectedly.

In the 90 years the Detroit Lions have been a franchise, they remain the only team operational for the entirety of the Super Bowl era to have never appeared in a Super Bowl; making the loss that much more heartbreaking for fans who seemed sure this was their year. However, Eminem assured his beloved Lions that there were no hard feelings, posting to X following the game that he was “so proud” of the team, thanking them for an amazing season. “We’ll [be] back!!!” he added.

So proud of the @Lions Thanks 4 an amazing season!!!! We’ll b back!!!
