Former NFL star Terrell Suggs was arrested in Arizona and charged with several counts stemming from an incident last month. TMZ was the first to report the story.

Suggs was booked into the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday night. Officials at the sheriff’s office told TMZ that Suggs’ arrest “stemmed from an incident that was reported to authorities back on March 10.” Suggs has been charged with one count of assault and one count of offense against public order.

The exact circumstances of the incident are unclear at this time. After he was booked, Suggs was taken to the Scottsdale City Jail. He’s since been released from custody.

41-year-old Suggs spent 17 years as a linebacker in the NFL, much of it with the Ravens. In 2013, Suggs was instrumental in leading the Ravens to their success over the 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII. Suggs spent his last season, in 2020, with both the Cardinals and the Chiefs. With the latter team, he won Super Bowl LIV.

This is a developing story. Check back later for more information.
