In-N-Out, the cult-beloved Southern California burger chain, is adding yet another state to its roster amid widespread expansions. The burger chain announced this week that it was in the “early planning stages” of moving into New Mexico, with Albuquerque locations expected to open by 2027

Lynsi Snyder, the only granddaughter of founders Harry and Esther Snyder, who now runs the company, made the announcement on Instagram on Tuesday. In addition to New Mexico, In-N-Out has already made its way to Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and Colorado. Expansions into Idaho and Tennessee, where the company revealed plans to open a corporate office earlier this year, are likewise on the horizon.

“We’re excited to share that we will be fully in the Four Corners, serving our Customers in New Mexico, by 2027!” the post read. “It’s an exciting day for our Company, the In-N-Out Family and our Customers. Stay tuned for more details. We’re looking forward to serving quality burgers, fries, and shakes in Albuquerque, NM!”

In-N-Out told the Albuquerque Journal that a distribution facility in Colorado Springs “will enable delivery of fresh products to each location” in keeping with the chain’s rigid standard of quality control.

“Growth into New Mexico is an important milestone for us,” Snyder said in a statement. “We’ve heard from many loyal In-N-Out customers there through the years, wondering if we would ever open restaurants in their communities, especially after opening locations farther to the east.”

“It was only a matter of when, once we had the infrastructure and support in place,” she added. “I’m excited that our customers won’t have to travel to a nearby state for an In-N-Out Burger for much longer.”

The company currently operates nearly 400 restaurants, however it will be at least another two years before any are open east of Texas. And fans on the east coast will still be out of luck for the foreseeable future. In addition to the forthcoming TBD locations in New Mexico and Tennessee, In-N-Out currently has seven grand openings slated in the near future, with two in Southern California, one in central California, one each in Idaho and Colorado, and two in Texas.
