Revelations continue to pour forth from Britney Spears’ memoir The Woman in Me, and it doesn’t even hit stores until October 24. In addition to a flurry of admissions regarding her contentious relationship with Justin Timberlake, including that she “agreed” to have an abortion with him, Spears is now getting candid about their break-up.

According to The New York Times, Spears says that Timberlake portrayed her as the “harlot who’d broken the heart of America’s golden boy” after he implied in his song “Cry Me a River” that she had cheated on him. The “Criminal” singer admits to having kissed someone else while dating the *NSYNC member, but insists he also cheated on her.

The two dated for three years between 1999 and 2002. In another excerpt from her memoir, Spears recalls how Timberlake ended their relationship with a single text message. She said she was “devastated” after the split, having believed they would one day start a family.

“I was comatose in Louisiana, and he was happily running around Hollywood,” Spears reflected.

Last year on Instagram, music video director Chris Applebaum posted a recollection of the incident which mirrors Spears’ account. He was helming a marathon 24-hour shoot for the star’s “Overprotected (Darkchild Remix)” video.

“We had one crew clock out after 12 hours and a new one clock in,” Applebaum said. “At some point during the second shift, Brit disappeared and I went to her trailer to fetch her…only to discover her BF Justin had just broken up with her via text message. (Let me recommend to any who reads this: don’t break up via text!)”

Applebaum continued: “We sat on the floor of her trailer for a minute, talked it out, and then rallied. I told her she should get out there & show Justin he made the biggest mistake of his life.”

According to sources, Timberlake is reportedly “concerned” about what stories the book may contain.

The Woman in Me hits shelves on October 24, and is currently available for pre-order.
