Snoop Dogg Shares Tribute to Brother Bing Worthington, Dead at 44
Snoop Dogg is mourning the death of his brother Bing Worthington, 44, who recently passed away due to undisclosed causes. On Friday, the 52-year-old Olympic Games host took to Instagram to share a series of tributes to his late brother.
In the first of three posts, Snoop posted a photo of himself and Worthington—who was his half-brother on his mother’s side—in a dressing room alongside a third man, possibly one of his sons or another family member. The “Gin & Juice” rapper captioned the post tastefully with just a series of emojis, including prayer hands and a dove.
In another post, he posted a photo of Worthington giving their mother what appears to be a birthday cake. “[Back] wit momma,” he wrote.
Worthington worked with his famous older brother throughout the years, first as a roadie on his tour and later taking over as tour manager.
But he was also famous in his own right, releasing music with his hip-hop group, Lifestyle, which produced a couple of albums together and even had a song called “Tha Jump Off” on the soundtrack for the 2006 Van Wilder sequel. However, Worthington eventually gave up his dreams of becoming a rapper when he realized he enjoyed the behind-the-scenes business side of the industry more.
“Back in the day I had an album, it was called Liquid Cocaine and I put that out with my group Lifestyle,” he told Vice in 2016. “When I put the album out, I was putting everything in the music together. My guy was a great rapper and I was a great rapper, but I was like ‘Why am I working on the music? I should be doing all the business side of this thing.’ I love meeting people, talking business, that got me going. That made me feel like another person.”
Worthington eventually moved to Canada to start his own record label, a merger between his own Dogg Records and Canadian hip hop label Urban Heat Legends.
