Travis Scott played mediator in a couple’s argument during his show in Miami on Monday night, TMZ reported. The Utopia rapper, who’s currently embarking on his Circus Maximus tour, was performing at the city’s Kaseya Center.

At one point during his set, Scott stopped mid-song and instructed the person operating the spotlight to illuminate a couple not far from the stage. “I see you’re arguing,” Scott addressed the man, who was standing next to a seated woman. “Today you’re all gonna have a good motherfucking time,” the recently anointed GQ Man of the Year jovially instructed them.

“What I want you to do, I want you to give her a big hug real quick,” Scott told the unidentified man, who promptly embraced his seated partner. When she didn’t quite return the gesture, the “Sicko Mode” singer implored her to, “Give him a hug like you love him!”

The man then pulled the young woman to her feet, and they shared a passionate embrace as one person in the crowd emphatically screamed, “Kiss her!”

It seemed all was well for the time being, as footage shows the couple standing together and happily holding one another after their moment in the spotlight.

The Circus Maximus tour is Scott’s first since the tragedy that occurred at his Astroworld Festival exactly two years ago, in November 2021. Ten people died in a crowd crush as Scott performed on the stage above. Earlier this month, he spoke with GQ about how the event affected his life and work.

“That moment for families, for the city, you know, it was devastating,” he said of the incident. “I always think about it. Those fans were like my family. You know, I love my fans to the utmost.”

Ultimately, it was recording Utopia that pulled Scott from his grief. “The idea of just even getting back into music, working on music, and just even getting into that, was therapeutic,” he recalled, “[and] being able to channel some of the energy into production and sounds and finishing it.”
